Getting started
Install Trading Cards and open your first pack.
Trading Cards gives every mob in your game its own collectible card, showing its real 3D model. Mobs drop their cards, booster packs turn up in chests, and every pack might hold the shiny one you’re after.
It runs on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.21.11 and 26.2, and on Fabric (with Fabric API) for 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.2 and 26.3.
Installing
- Install the mod loader for your Minecraft version (and Fabric API, on Fabric).
- Put the Trading Cards jar for your version and loader in the
modsfolder. - On a server, put it on the server and in every player’s game: it adds items and blocks, so both sides need it.
Your first cards
There are three ways to start:
- Kill a mob. Now and then it drops its own card (only when a player kills it; Looting helps).
- Find a booster pack in a chest: dungeons, temples, villages, Nether fortresses, End cities, shipwrecks, ancient cities, trial vaults and more.
- Craft an Overworld Booster: 8 paper around an emerald. Wandering traders sell packs too.
Opening a pack
Right-click a pack, then hold the mouse button (or Space). The lid lifts and light pours out in the colour of the best card inside: rainbow if it’s Prismatic, with a heartbeat for the rarest. Let go and it sinks shut, so you can tease it as long as you like. Hold all the way and it tears open.
The cards come up one at a time, rarest last: click to flip each one. The summary shows what’s new, your best pull and how far along each set you are, with Open another if you’re carrying more packs of that kind. The cards go straight into your inventory.
In a hurry? Flip all skips ahead, sneak and right-click opens a pack instantly, and the setting skipPackAnimation skips the animation for good.
Your binder
Craft a Card Binder (a book, 2 leather and string) and right-click it. Put cards in moves every card from your inventory into it. Every set is listed down the left, with silhouettes for the cards you haven’t found yet. See Binder, shop and trading for everything it does.
