What it does
Trading Cards gives every mob its own card, showing its real 3D model. Mobs drop their cards now and then, booster packs turn up in chests and with traders, and every pack is a little gamble: hold it to lift the lid, and the light that pours out shows the best card inside.
There are 155 cards in eight sets, from the Overworld to the Bosses & Raiders, every mob variant, and two seasonal sets. Every Prismatic and Netherite card gets a server-wide print number, and the whole server hears when someone pulls one. Everything is datapack JSON, and modded mobs get cards automatically.
Collecting
Mob drops, booster packs and five rarities, from Copper to Netherite.
- A card for every mob, showing its real model, live. Drag a card to turn it.
- Booster packs you can tease open: the light shows the best card inside, and the rarest comes last with a hush, a flash and a fanfare.
- Shimmering Prismatic versions of every card, and numbered prints for every Prismatic and Netherite card.
- 155 cards in eight sets, including every mob variant and the seasonal Spooky Season and Winter Wonderland.
- A Card Binder with silhouettes for the cards you’re missing, a reward for each set, your pull history, Collection Score and rank.
- Safe trading, a Card Shop to trade in spares and craft what you’re missing, a Card Dealer villager, card stands and Set Displays.
For servers and pack makers
Everything players collect is datapack JSON.
- Add cards, sets, rarities and packs for any mod, with no code. Modded mobs get cards automatically.
- Choose where packs turn up, what the shop charges and how often mobs drop cards.
- Server-wide announcements for rare pulls, leaderboards and 16 advancements.
- /tradingcards problems lists every mistake in your card files.
- JEI, EMI and Jade show which mob drops each card and what every pack holds, with its odds.
- Works with Hardline’s Daily Calendar, Noticeboard, Body Language and Hindsight, and has an API for other mods.
Quick start
Your first pack
- Install Trading Cards on the server and in your game (both need it). In singleplayer, your game is enough.
- Find a booster pack in a chest, buy one from a wandering trader, or craft an Overworld Booster from 8 paper around an emerald.
- Right-click it and hold the mouse button (or Space) to tear it open. Click to flip each card.
Your collection
- Craft a Card Binder (a book, 2 leather and string) and right-click it.
- Press Put cards in. Finish a set for its reward.
- Sneak and right-click a friend to trade, or take your spares to a Card Shop.
