Wheel, keys and /emote
Using Body Language's emote wheel, its number keys, the emote list and the /emote command, choosing your eight favourites, and changing the keys.
The keys
| Key | What it does |
|---|---|
| B (hold) | Opens the emote wheel. While it’s open, 1 to 8 do a slot at once |
| N | Opens the list of every emote |
| G | For the player you’re looking at: ask for a hug or high-five, or join their dance. Also says yes when someone asks you |
Change any of them in Options › Controls › Key Binds, under Body Language. If another mod uses the same key, change one of the two so they don’t clash.
The emote wheel
Hold B and the wheel opens with your eight favourite emotes in a circle. Point at one with the mouse and let go of B (or click it) to do it. Let go with the mouse in the middle to cancel.
Number keys: each slot shows its number, 1 at the top and on clockwise to 8. While you hold B, press a number (on the number row or the keypad) and that emote starts at once, no aiming needed. Hold B, tap 4, and you’re dancing.
The wheel starts with, clockwise from the top: Wave, Clap, Cheer, Shuffle, Bow, Facepalm, Shrug and Heart Hands.
The emote list
Press N for every emote, including any added by resource packs. Click one to do it.
Choosing your wheel
The right of the list shows your wheel’s eight slots.
- Click the slot you want to change.
- Click the emote to put there.
The wheel changes straight away and remembers your choice.
The /emote command
Type /emote and a space, then the emote’s name. Tab shows and completes the names.
| You type | What happens |
|---|---|
/emote wave |
Waves. Built-in emotes go by their short name: wave, air_guitar, dance_floss. |
/emote heart hands |
The name you see in the list works too, in any case, with or without spaces. |
/emote mypack:raise_the_roof |
An emote from a resource pack, by its full name. |
/emote stop |
Ends your emote. |
It runs on your own game, so it works on every server, with or without Body Language, and keybind or macro mods can use it to put an emote on any key you like. Hugs and high-fives can’t be started this way: they need the other player to say yes.
The view from behind
While you emote, the view swings round behind you so you can see your player, then comes back when you stop. It only does this when you’re in first person. Turn it off in Settings if you’d rather stay where you are.
