What it does
Body Language adds emotes to Minecraft. Your eight favourites sit on a wheel one key away, every emote is in a list, and they ease in and out smoothly while the view swings round behind you so you can see yourself.
On a server with the mod, everyone near you sees your emotes, dances fall into step with each other, and you can ask a friend for a hug or a high-five. On a server without it, you still see your own.
Emotes
Works on any server. Your own emotes always show on your screen.
- 30 emotes: waves, claps, cheers and bows, Facepalm and Shrug, Heart Hands, Air Guitar, Sit and Lie Down, and four dances: Shuffle, Disco, Robot and Floss.
- An emote wheel with your eight favourites: point and let go, or press 1 to 8. A list of every emote, where you choose which eight go on the wheel.
- Smooth animation that eases in and out, and a view that swings round behind you while you emote.
- Moving ends an emote straight away. Dances and poses carry on until you do.
- The /emote command, with Tab completion, for keybind mods and macros.
- Make your own: emotes are small text files, so a resource pack can add new ones.
With friends
Needs Body Language on the server as well as on each player’s game.
- Everyone nearby with the mod sees your emotes, even if they walk up halfway through.
- Dance together: start a dance next to someone doing it and you fall into step, or look at a dancer and press G to join in.
- Hugs and high-fives: look at a friend, press G, and if they say yes you both step into place.
- Requests can be turned off, and nobody can send more than one every three seconds.
- An event for other mods when a player starts or stops an emote, so a pet can copy its owner.
Quick start
Your first emote
- Install Body Language. In singleplayer, or on any server, your game is enough to see your own emotes.
- In a world, hold B. The wheel opens with eight emotes.
- Point at Wave at the top and let go of B, or press 1 while holding it.
- Press N for every emote. To end a dance, just walk away.
Dance with friends
- Install Body Language on the server and on every player’s game.
- Hold B and press 4 to start Shuffle (or pick any dance from the list with N).
- Friends who start the same dance within six blocks fall into step with you.
- Or a friend looks at you and presses G, then Join in.

- Showing your emotes to others, hugs, high-fives and dancing in step need Body Language on the server too. Players without it can still join that server; they just don’t see emotes.
- Body Language 1.1 and 1.0 work together in both directions.
