    The emotes

All 30 Body Language emotes, which ones play once and which carry on until you move, plus the two you do with a friend.

Body Language comes with 30 emotes, plus two you can only do with another player. Some play once and finish by themselves; others carry on until you move. The ones marked new arrived in version 1.1.

    Play once

These play through once, in about two to three seconds, and end by themselves.

    Emote What it is
Wave A friendly wave hello (or goodbye).
Clap A round of applause, with clapping sounds.
    Cheer Arms up in celebration.
Bow A polite bow from the waist.
Curtsy (new) One foot back and a little dip.
    Salute A smart salute.
    Facepalm Hand to the face.
    Shrug “No idea.”
    Point Point at something.
    Laugh A good laugh.
    Flex Show off those arms.
    Dab You know the one.
Heart Hands Make a heart with your hands.
Jump for Joy (new) Two big jumps with your arms up in a V.
Stretch (new) Arms up, a lean each way, and a big stretch out to the sides.
    Yes A nod.
No A shake of the head.

    Carry on until you move

These keep going until you walk, jump, sneak, attack or get hurt, so they’re good for a dance floor or a long chat. Start one next to someone already doing it and you fall into step with them (see dancing together).

    Emote What it is
    Shuffle A dance.
    Disco A dance.
    Robot A dance.
Floss (new) Arms swinging side to side, one in front and one behind, hips going the other way.
Air Guitar (new) Shred an invisible guitar, head banging, with a note now and then.
Sit Sit down on the ground.
Lie Down (new) Lie back on the ground, one arm behind your head.
    Cry Have a little cry.
Think Hand on chin, thinking it over.
Shy (new) Hands behind your back, head down, drawing circles with your foot.
Crossed Arms (new) Arms folded, tapping your foot, looking away.
Scared (new) Cowering behind your hands, trembling.
    T-Pose Assert dominance.

    With a friend

Hug and High-five aren’t on the wheel or the list, because they need two people. Look at a friend and press G to ask. See Hugs, high-fives and dancing together.

    Ending an emote

Any of these end an emote straight away, with a quick blend back to normal:

    • walking or strafing
    • jumping
    • sneaking
    • attacking or swinging your arm
    • getting hurt
    • /emote stop

Starting another emote swaps to it. Resource packs can add more emotes, which show up in the list alongside these (see Making emotes).
