Hugs, high-fives and dancing together
Dancing in step with your friends, asking a friend for a hug or high-five in Body Language, saying yes or no, and turning requests off.
This needs Body Language on the server and on every player’s game. On a server without it, nobody sees anyone else’s emotes, so there’s nothing to join or hug.
Dancing together
Dances, and every other emote that carries on until you move (Sit, Lie Down, Air Guitar and so on), can be done in step with your friends. Two ways:
- Start the same one nearby. Start a dance within 6 blocks of someone who’s already doing it, from the wheel,
the list, a number key or
/emote, and you fall into step with them. - Join in. Look at someone who’s dancing (within 3 blocks) and press G. Under Hug and High-five there’s Join in: and the name of their dance. Press it and you start their dance, in step.
Joining needs no asking: you’re only copying what they’re already doing. Everyone nearby with the mod sees you in step too. Anyone who joins a dance someone else joined is in step with the whole group, so a dance floor stays together however many join.
Asking for a hug or high-five
- Stand close to someone (within 3 blocks).
- Look at them and press G.
- Choose Hug or High-five.
They have 15 seconds to answer. You’ll be told if they say no, don’t answer, or aren’t taking requests. You can ask once every 3 seconds, so nobody can spam anyone.
Being asked
A card pops up near the top of your screen, and a line in chat with [Yes] and [No]. To say yes, press G or click [Yes]. To say no, click [No] or just leave it: after 15 seconds it counts as a no.
You can also type /bodylanguage yes or /bodylanguage no.
What happens
When they say yes, the server lines you both up facing each other, then:
- Hug: you hug, with hearts.
- High-five: each of you takes a small step to your left, so your right hands meet straight up overhead, with a clap and sparks.
Everyone nearby with the mod sees it. If you walk too far apart before it starts, it’s called off.
Not in the mood?
Turn off Let players ask me for hugs and high-fives in Settings. Anyone who asks is told politely that you aren’t taking hugs or high-fives right now. People can still join your dances.
