Getting started
Install Block Band, open its menu and play your first song, solo or on a server.
Block Band is a rhythm game inside Minecraft. Pick an instrument (guitar, bass, drums, keys, or vocals with your microphone), hit the notes as they reach the line, and play songs on your own or as a band with your friends.
It runs on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1.
Installing
- Install NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Get Block Band from CurseForge: add it to a profile in the CurseForge app, or download the jar and
put it in your
modsfolder. - To play in a band, or to use the instruments and stage blocks on a server, the server needs Block Band too. Solo play also works on servers that don’t have it.
Your first song
- In a world, press the key just right of L (; on US and UK keyboards, see Controls) to open the Block Band menu, then choose Play a song. You can also right-click while holding an instrument. Block Band tells you the key’s name on your keyboard when you first join.
- Pick a song, an instrument and a difficulty, then press Play!
- Press the key for each lane as its note reaches the line at the bottom. On a US keyboard that’s A S D K L for the five lanes (other keyboards use the keys in the same places). Your keys are always shown under the highway.
- Hold the key for long notes, and press all of a chord’s keys together.
If the notes feel a little early or late, run Calibrate from the menu once. It measures the delay of your speakers or headphones and fixes it.
No Fail is on by default, so you can’t fail out of a song however many notes you miss. Turn it off in Settings when you want a challenge.
