Getting started
Install Sleepers on your server and see who's been on lately.
Sleepers makes a server feel lived in. When a player logs off, they fall asleep in their bed, wearing their own skin, with their name and “last seen 3 hours ago” floating above them. When they log back in, they wake up and the sleeper is gone.
It runs on NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.21.11 and 26.2, and on Fabric (with Fabric API) for 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.2 and 26.3.
Installing
- Install the mod loader for your Minecraft version on the server (and Fabric API, on Fabric).
- Put the Sleepers jar for your version and loader in the server’s
modsfolder. - Start the server. That’s all.
Players don’t need Sleepers. Everything they see is made of things Minecraft already knows how to show, so vanilla players see sleepers too, and the server never asks anyone for the mod. If a player does have it, nothing changes, and it doesn’t stop them joining servers without it.
It’s made for servers: in singleplayer there’s nobody around to see you asleep.
Trying it
- Sleep in a bed (or just click it) so it’s your respawn point.
- Log off, and have a friend look at your bed: you’re asleep in it, with a label saying who you are and when you were last seen.
- Your friend right-clicks you for a card with your play time. A second right-click within 10 seconds uses the bed as if you weren’t there.
- Log back in: the sleeper is gone.
Players who have never slept in a bed lie down on the ground where they logged off. Server owners can switch that off: see Servers.
Settings
Everything is in one file on the server, config/sleepers-server.toml, the same on NeoForge and Fabric. It’s written the first time the server starts, with every setting explained. Edit it and run /sleepers reload. See Servers for the full list.
