FAQ
Common questions about Daily Calendar.
Does it need to be on the server?
Yes: the server decides what day it is and gives the rewards. It’s optional for players. With it they get the calendar screen; without it they claim from a chest menu or chat. In singleplayer, your game is all you need.
When does a new day start?
At midnight in the server’s own time zone, unless the server sets another time zone or hour (timeZone and rolloverHour). The countdown at the bottom of the calendar shows how long is left.
Can players cheat by changing their computer’s clock?
No. Only the server’s clock counts, and every door is checked on the server before anything is given.
I missed a day. Have I lost everything?
No. On Daily Rewards you lose that day’s door and keep everything you’ve opened (and one missed day in a row doesn’t even break your streak). On a seasonal calendar you can still open a missed door the next day.
The comma key doesn’t open it.
Another mod may use comma too. Change Daily Calendar’s key in Options > Controls (under “Daily Calendar”), or use the clock button in your inventory or /calendar.
Can I change the rewards?
Yes, if you run the server or make the pack. Every calendar is a JSON file you can copy and edit: see Making calendars and Rewards and themes. Items from any mod work, with their components.
Can I have a calendar just for VIPs or staff?
Yes: give it a requires rule (an op level, scoreboard tags or teams), or grant its permission node with LuckPerms or another permissions mod. See Rewards and themes.
Where is my progress saved?
On the server, in the world folder: dailycalendar/players/<your uuid>.json. Back up the world and you’ve backed it up.
Was it made with AI?
Yes, and we’re upfront about it. Daily Calendar was vibe coded: Claude Code, Anthropic’s AI coding assistant, wrote the code from Taylor’s ideas, testing and feedback.
